This course is for 6th and 7th graders who are interested in being well prepared for high school level science. Students will start their investigation into planet Earth and the regions beyond it learning about Earth's resources, how the Earth has evolved and continues to change. Students will finish the year studying Earth's climate, oceans, and how it exists within our solar system. In class, students will participate in labs demonstrating Earth's changes over time as well as creating scientific models to illustrate the topics covered.

HOMEWORK
Approximately 30-45 minutes per day. Detailed assignment sheets will be posted each week with reading and coursework from the book as well as occasional projects for students to complete at home. Students will also complete review questions, be asked to watch occasional videos, and complete a pre-lab before coming to class each week so that they are well prepared for the weekly lab. More time may be needed during projects or to prepare for a test.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITY
Print assignment sheets each week, oversee coursework, special projects, and help make sure student has completed pre-lab and is ready for class.
