This course will utilize written, audio-visual, and internet resources to convey to the student the magnificence and faith-expanding nature of the physical universe and its processes. It will also explore the vital topic of cosmology, an in-depth study of the origins of the universe, and theories that attempt to predict how it will develop and, ultimately, as Scripture attests, "be changed" under the Providence of God. Recent discoveries from the Webb space telescope will also be highlighted. Tutor owned solar telescope will also be utilized for enrichment and extended credit. Class scrapbook from 2022-23 is retained by tutor, but will be available to a new class for their review and supplementation.
Anatomy & Physiology will be offered in 2025-2026.
HOMEWORK
Approximately an hour a day for four days should be sufficient for the student to complete reading and writing assignments. Occasionally, more may be required if internet research is included.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITY
Parents will need to check their student's weekly assignments and level of preparation for class. They will also be asked to sign any written homework to be submitted for credit.
COURSE FEE: $375 pay-in-full / $414 payment plan
SUPPLY FEE: $50 materials fee, which includes one of the two texts utilized in the course
GRADE LEVEL: 10 - 12 grades. Exceptional 9th graders may be considered, depending upon science and math background.
PREREQUISITES: Basic geometry. esp, knowledge of angles, and rudimentary "number sense" of exponents of base ten, as well as basic intermediate school level physics and chemistry would be very helpful.
CREDIT HOURS: 1 credit
MIN/MAX: 5 minimum, 10 maximum
