Intro to Latin - Second Form
2026-2027
Continue to learn both English grammar and Latin simultaneously through the 2nd year of this course. Build upon previous verb study by learning the remaining Latin conjugations as well as the passive voice. Expand noun study by focusing on datives, genitives, and objects of the preposition. Discover the 8 types of pronouns, honing both the personal and possessive types in Latin. Diagram sentences to help with language analysis, complexities, and translation. This grammatical approach to learning Latin, along with over 150 new vocabulary words, will continue to provide a substantial foundation for further Latin studies through high school.
>First Form Latin will be offered again in 2027-2028.
HOMEWORK
Students should expect to spend 45 minutes 4 days per week outside of class dedicated to workbook pages, vocabulary study, grammar rule memorization, and online study aids. Quizzes and tests will be taken at home.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITY
Parents MUST check student workbook pages daily in order to make sure students are practicing the homework correctly. This is imperative since the students will only be with the tutor once per week! Purchase of the Answer Key is mandatory for this purpose.
